GUST is committed to providing cutting edge knowledge solutions through its research for the growth of industry and Kuwait's economy. A university's internationally accepted mission is advancement of knowledge through research and this is precisely what GUST researchers are engaged in.

However, GUST professors do not only conduct academic research published in journals and books, they also engage in consultancy research targeted to finding practical solutions for the economic and social problems of the region - in this way GUST wishes to distinguish itself amongst regional teaching institutions.

To promote and assist research and training activities at GUST. In that role the CBRC shall define and implement the policies governing research in various Colleges in line with the mission of GUST.

A key plank of GUST's development is an academic industry partnership. The Center for Research and Development is actively developing contacts with leading companies for sharing and developing collaborative knowledge.

This knowledge would be created by involving the business sector to participate in conferences and talks and through obtaining funding from businesses to financially support the research being conducted at GUST.

Such a partnership will result in finding innovative and practical solutions for Kuwait's development.
