GUST Launches Initiative in Solidarity with Front-line Workers
Kuwait City, 8 February 2021: Head of Student Recruitment & Marketing at GUST, Hebah Al-Roumi, unveiled today that the university is launching a solidarity initiative aimed at Kuwait’s front-line workers as a token of appreciation to all their efforts and sacrifices during the global COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative guarantees that GUST will cover 20% of the tuition fees of all front line workers, and children of front line workers.
Al-Roumi added, “It is crucial that we highlight the sacrifices and efforts our front-liners made over the course of the year during this global pandemic. Therefore, it is GUST’s duty and social responsibility to present such an initiative amidst the current circumstances of the country and the world.”
She went on to note that this is a one-time opportunity, and those interested in the scholarship should meet the necessary requirements and apply for the 2021/2022 Fall Semester. The sectors of work that are applicable to this academic grant are: Civil Aviation, Ministry of Health, Kuwaiti National Guard, Kuwait Fire Service Department, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Interior, and the General Administration of Civil Defense. Lastly, the scholarship is available for all nationalities.
The university has also allocated a hotline (1886644) for information regarding the details and conditions of the scholarship and how to apply. The university’s other channels of communication, such as social media channels, website, and the live chat feature are also available to serve and help those interested in this academic grant.
The solidarity initiative grant is a part of an already extensive list of grants and scholarships that GUST offers as opportunities for its members. These include a postgraduate scholarship for faculty members and a scholarship for outstanding high school students.
