Corredores discontinuos: la ciudad escenario y lo no resuelto en Mar de leva de Octavio Escobar Giraldo

The presentation explores the novel Mar de leva (2018) by the Colombian writer Octavio Escobar Giraldo to understand how the city is narrated as a discourse of staged spaces.  The presenter was Dr. Angela Gonzalez Echeverry Associate professor of Spanish in Gust.

The characters of the novel are not only wandering around but rather transiting empty spaces and carrying over unsolved adverse situations. The novel constructs a narrative of the space that seems to not belong to anyone and yet at the same time, belong to everyone. Therefore, the narrative of the trauma can be interpreted as a discontinuity of social forces in the tension.
