KD 84050/- KFAS Research Grant Awarded to Dr. Bassam Alameddine

Dr. Bassam Alameddine (Associate Professor of Chemistry) has been awarded a National Priorities Research Grant in the amount of 84,025 Kuwaiti Dinars (~280,000$) by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) for his research project entitled “Versatile Polymers for Organic Field Effect Transistors: Sustainable Materials for Photovoltaic Cells and Sensing Applications”. The three-year project will focus on discovering novel polymeric materials for applications in organic field effect transistors, as well as possible use in photovoltaic cells and gas sensors. It will be executed in collaboration with the University of Strasbourg, the School of Mines of Saint-Etienne, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Kuwait University. The study, if successful, will assess a new class of polymers for applications in solar cells devices and gas sensors.
