“THE SCRIPT” Cultural Conference to be launched on April 12th.
The Mass Communication and Media (MCM) Department at the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) will launch a four day cultural industry conference -“THE SCRIPT” starting April 12, 2015. The conference aims to celebrate local cultural icons, emerging talent, and inspire the next generation to discover their inner talents and appreciate the achievements of their predecessors. “THE SCRIPT” will also host a series of lectures by Kuwaiti industry leaders and workshops for the public on documentary film production, script writing, and acting.
Launching the event on Sunday, April 12, is a ceremony honoring the careers of Kuwaiti screen legends Abdulhussain Abdulredha, Mohammed Al Mansour, Hayat Al Fahad, and Suad Abdullah where they will be bestowed with a Lifetime Achievement Award in the Field of Theatrical Arts. For the remainder of the week, the conference will host prominent speakers from the world of radio, TV, film, and theatre. Kuwaiti-made feature-length and short films will also be screened, followed by open discussions with their selected actors, producers and directors. Additionally, the conference will exhibit photos and motion graphics, as well as conduct other events to be announced soon - all of which are free to the public.
