A.M. Al-Refai Library Organizes Workshops on Research Promotion and Citation Database
The A.M. Al-Refai Library at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) organized two workshops on campus, in partnership with Elsevier, a global information analytics business. The workshops, which were attended by members of GUST faculty and staff, discussed ways in promoting research for maximum impact, and demonstrated Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature.
Elsevier Customer Consultant, Ozge Sertdemir, went into detail and showcased the features of the Scopus Data Drive system, which covers nearly 36,377 titles from approximately 11,678 publishers, of which 34,346 are peer-reviewed journals in top-level subject fields. She later on demonstrated the benefit of this system, and how it can be used in promoting faculty research. All attendees received a certificate upon completion of the workshop.
GUST’s A. M. Al-Refai Library holds workshops and trainings periodically, covering the browsing and navigation of various databases, publication finders, and other tools and utilities. These workshops facilitate effective searches for the users, and support learning, teaching, and research, in general.
