“Being able to represent GUST at its affiliated partner UMSL this summer was one of the most liberating experiences I have ever had. The exposure to a totally different culture, diversity and the overall in-class experience that UMSL provided definitely enriched me personally and academically. Furthermore, I had the chance to visit other places such as Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, New Jersey and New York - where I got to meet with my high school best friend. Moreover, I made plenty of new friends in St. Louis and I met a lot of amazing people who really took care of us and made us feel at home. Also, I had the chance to attend outstanding concerts and theaters performances. I encourage all students who meet the requirements to apply for this amazing experience. I would like to thank GUST for recognizing my potential and granting me this once-in-a-lifetime scholarship.”

Attended: UMSL - Summer 2018

Classes Attended: Web Programming & Ceramics

“I loved studying at UMSL. The campus was wonderful. The area was so beautiful; it was so green and surrounded with trees. The fountains on campus were breathtaking. The campus from inside is totally a different story. The Millennium Student Center is the main location on campus where you can find all the restaurants, bookstore, health center, bank, and so many more places to visit. The Social Science Business building is where all my classes were held, and included computer labs, offices, and other halls. The library is the place that I fell in love with at first sight. It has 5 floors; two of them are a museum with amazing historical newspapers and books; and the rest are for students. I really enjoyed my time at UMSL. It was really the most a wonderful experience I have ever had. I am very thankful to GUST for giving me such an unforgettable opportunity.”

“I was very fortunate to be chosen to represent GUST and its students on this trip. Along with my fellow scholarship recipients, our borders extended, our points were redirected, and our goals were renovated. The experience helped me get out of my comfort zone and opened me up to new challenges – which wasn’t easy. Though its benefits helped smooth the path to involvement. I am very grateful to have had the chance to be one of those fortunate students who were blessed with this opportunity to evolve and experience new things.”
