About the Faculty Member
Helmi Temimi was born in Al-Qayrawan in Tunisia. In 1996, Helmi Temimi attended the Engineers’ National School of Tunis, Tunisia where he earned a Civil Engineering degree in 2001. Then, he worked as a project manager in the National Company of Oil Distribution AGIL in Tunisia for two years meanwhile his ambition to Mathematics motivated him to continue his studies in Tunisia Polytechnic School from where he graduated with a Master degree in Applied Mathematics in June 2004. Thanks to his work in the Master graduation project, he was selected by his advisor to pursue a Ph.D. program in Mathematics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg, Virginia. In August 2004, he was sponsored by Virginia Tech at the Department of Mathematics where he worked as graduate teaching assistant. In May 2008, Helmi Temimi earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematics from Virginia Tech. In September 2008, he joined the academia through the door of the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) in Kuwait where he worked as assistant professor of Applied Mathematics at the Department of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.
