About Fab Lab

The Fab Lab project builds on the success with MIT students of an experimental course launched by Gershenfeld in 1998, called “How to Make (Almost) Anything,” with the intention of bringing together personal and digital fabrication, individual creativity and group collaboration (Gershenfeld, 2008; Manzo and Ramella, 2015). GUST Fab lab was proposed and founded in 2021 and is the only recognized active fab lab on the worldwide international fabrication labs map. The GUST Fab Lab is more than just a facility; it is a vibrant hub of creativity and ingenuity where our students and faculty turn theoretical concepts into practical solutions. This lab is equipped with cutting-edge technology including 3D printers, laser cutters, and other tools, which facilitate not only learning but also prototype development, paving the way for patents and real-world applications.
