PMO Senior Specialist

Key Role

We are seeking a highly organized and skilled individual to join our IT department at Gulf University for Science and Technology as an IT Project Management Office (PMO) professional. The PMO team is responsible for overseeing and managing various IT projects within the university. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in project management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. This position reports directly to the IT Senior Manager.


  • Track the progress of each project, ensuring adherence to timelines and deliverables.
  • Set deadlines for specific tasks and monitor their completion.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, tasks, and resource allocation.
  • Review documentation related to project creation, development, and implementation.
  • Analyze project financial data and budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and resource optimization.
  • Distribute and allocate resources accurately, considering project requirements and team availability.
  • Create reports for senior managers and stakeholders, providing updates on project status, milestones, and risks.
  • Establish and enforce standards for project growth and implementation, ensuring consistency and best practices.
  • Supervise and oversee projects, providing guidance and support to project teams.
  • Ensure the quality of projects by implementing quality assurance measures and conducting regular audits.
  • Manage resources effectively, plan projects, and delegate tasks to team members.
  • Monitor and manage the project budget, ensuring adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain project policies and guidelines to ensure the satisfactory completion of projects.
  • Coordinate with functional heads and department leaders to streamline project processes and allocate resources efficiently.


  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in IT project management, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience.
  3. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.
  4. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. Proficiency in project management tools and software.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  8. Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
  9. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  10. Familiarity with higher education systems and processes is a plus.
