Full Professor for English Literature in the English Department
Description
The Department of English Language and Literature in the College of Arts and Science at GUST invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Literature; American and/or English starting in Fall 2026. The ideal candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Literature: Postcolonial Literature, Migration Studies, World Literature, Comparative Literature and cross-cultural literary studies. The department seeks a scholar who is bilingual or multilingual, with the ability to teach and conduct research across languages, cultures, and literary traditions, and to engage students in comparative study of texts from diverse linguistic and cultural contexts. Preference will be given to candidates with the rank of Professor however, those who qualify for appointment at lower ranks are also encouraged to apply. Candidates should possess the ability to actively participate in faculty committees and are expected to publish high-quality research in leading peer-reviewed journals. The State of Kuwait does not recognize degrees from online universities.
Minimum Qualifications
The applicant must have completed a PhD in Comparative Literature or related field from a reputable North American or European university with an extensive teaching experience. Candidates should use technology in all aspects of their teaching and possess experience using a variety of online platforms and teaching tools, implement current teaching and assessment of student learning practices, foster a successful learning environment for all students.
