Message from Head of Department

The study of finance develops the skills necessary for success in domestic and global financial environments. In light of the university’s strategic plan, the vision of Economics and Finance department is to be recognized as having regionally preeminent education and research in Economics and Finance.

Finance is one of the most popular academic majors. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), it is expected that employment of financial analysts will grow 6 percent from 2018 to 2028, about as fast as the average for all occupations. A growing range of financial products and the need for in-depth knowledge of geographic regions are expected to lead to strong employment growth.

With an unwavering commitment to ethics, morals, and hard work, the mission of the Department of Economics and Finance is to provide financial experts with leadership and entrepreneurial skills to serve public and private sectors at national and international levels through teaching methods of the highest international standards.

Our undergraduate program in finance is designed to prepare students for entry-level and leadership positions in areas such as financial management, banking and investments. Finance tracks are offered in banking, economics and insurance. The track certificate will be in addition to any degree the student may receive and is intended to provide additional evidence of attaining a specific body of knowledge. These tracks will provide students with a solid foundation and specialization for specific career option in the financial industry.
