Message From Head of Department

I am so pleased to share that Kuwait's first full-fledged undergraduate Engineering Management degree program has launched under the newly founded College of Engineering and Architecture at GUST. This unique program is also one of the first programs in the GCC, delivering a 4-year engineering degree specializing in engineering and management. It was a fully engineering science-based program prepared considering ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accreditation requirements, a testament to its commitment to providing high-quality education to its students. I am proud of being part of this team that put such a fantastic program together with the collaboration of our partner institution, Missouri University of Science and Technology, which has the house to one of the world's oldest undergraduate engineering management programs.

While technology becomes an integral part of our daily life, duties and expectations from the engineering disciplines keep evolving. Traditionally, engineering was considered a discipline for developing technological, innovative, creative, and advanced products and services. However, engineers must now understand, define, and manage complex relationships in our business world. In such an environment, engineers need excellent technical and managerial skills to communicate effectively with the stakeholders and deal with the continuously changing job descriptions. Engineering management is an emerging field providing interdisciplinary solutions to fulfill these market needs.

Our engineering management curriculum at GUST prepares students for leadership and intrapreneurial roles in today's complex environment. Our program at GUST nurtures engineers with technical problem-solving and managerial skills to solve the problems of both the engineering and business worlds while optimizing the use of people, equipment, money, and information ethically and sustainably. Graduates can design, implement, operate and optimize sophisticated technological enterprises in manufacturing, government, and service sectors.
