Behind The Barbed Wires
Description
This translation project presents an English rendition of Behind the Barbed Wires, a memoir that recounts the experiences of a Kuwaiti prisoner who spent fifteen years in American prisons. Through personal testimony and reflective narrative, the work explores themes of incarceration, resilience, identity, and human endurance. The translation aims to preserve the author's voice and lived experiences while making the narrative accessible to English-speaking readers, offering insight into the social and psychological realities of long-term imprisonment across cultural contexts.
