As part of its commitment to open access and wider dissemination of research, the GUST Library has introduced ACM Open, a transformative Read & Publish agreement. Through this initiative, GUST-affiliated authors can publish open access articles in ACM journals, conference proceedings, and magazines without paying article processing charges (APCs). At the same time, the GUST community enjoys full access to the ACM Digital Library.
ACM Open Access Publication Process:
Who is eligible?
Any GUST faculty member using a valid GUST email address and a registered ORCID ID is eligible to benefit from this agreement.
How to publish open access with ACM?
1. Select your journal: Visit the list of holdings in ACM Digital Library and browse available titles. Our agreement covers all titles except SIG Newsletters and Publications within Hosted Content.
2. Review Submission Guidelines: On the journal’s homepage, click on the "Authors" tab to review submission guidelines, policies, and access the submission site.
3. Submit your manuscript: Once your manuscript is submitted, ACM will send you an email with a link to the Author eRights form. Complete the form to confirm your rights and finalize the submission.
4. Choose open access: We encourage you to select the default option: Institutionally Paid Open Access, to benefit from the agreement.
If you have any questions about the ACM Open Author eRights process, please contact rightsreview@acm.org or the Library. The library team is always ready to assist you.
Important Notes:
- Providing a valid ORCID ID is mandatory.
- A green bar will appear at the top of the page for eligible journals, confirming open access availability under ACM Open, while you are completing the Author eRights form.
