Masters of Business Administration (MBA) - Admission Requirements

Regular Admissions

  • Fill the MBA Admission application.
  • Bachelor's degree - or equivalent - in any discipline from locally accredited or internationally recognized university.
  • Official transcript(s) and equivalency (if applicable).
  • Minimum GPA of 2.67.
  • One of the following English Language Requirements: Minimum GUST English placement test score of 426, minimum TOEFL score of 550 (computer 213, internet 80), minimum IELTS score of 6 (Academic IELTS) Note for TOEFL/IELTS: the submitted score must have been obtained during the past two years. GUST graduates may be exempted from this condition.
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • Statement of purpose.
  • Updated copies of the Civil ID and Passport (and valid residency if applicable).
  • 2 personal photographs.
  • Updated CV.
  • GMAT result (valid for five years).
  • Interview (by invitation only).
  • Any other supporting documentation.

Conditional Admission

Conditional admissions will be granted to a candidate who has a four-year bachelor degree from an accredited university with a minimum GPA of 2.50 (in addition to all of the requirements mentioned above) and has a minimum of 2 years of work experience in the job market.

Application Deadlines

Students may begin the MBA program in the Fall, Spring or Summer semester. Applications for admission to the MBA Program should be submitted to the MBA Office no later than one week before the first day of enrollment period. Applications will be considered on a first come, first serve basis.

Note:

New students: A minimum payment of KD870 must be made towards tuition fees prior to registering for classes.

Current students: A minimum payment of KD570 must be made towards tuition fees prior to registering for classes. This applies for fall and spring semesters.

Summer semester: The fees for taking summer courses are the same as those for regular semesters. All fees for summer semester must be paid in full amount, in advance.

FAQ

Is the TOEFL/IELTS required if I already have an undergraduate degree from GUST?

GUST graduates may be exempted from this condition.

Can I transfer credits into the MBA program at GUST?

A maximum of 15 semester hours in graduate credit from another accredited college or university may be applied toward the required program credits (with a max of 9 hours to be transferred toward the core courses), provided the grade for each course is at least a B (3.0). However, these courses must be approved by the appropriate College Dean and the Director of MBA program.

Will I be assigned an academic advisor once accepted into the program?

Yes, an academic advisor will be available to meet with you.

Can I start taking classes before I have been accepted into the MBA program?

No, only students matriculated in the GUST MBA Program are permitted to take classes. You must apply, submit transcripts and other required documents to be considered for acceptance.

How long does it take to complete the MBA program?

How much is the tuition for a full/part-time MBA student?

The total fee (exclusive of application and registration fees) for the MBA Program is approx. 10,800 KD for total 45 credits (each credit hour is 240KD).

What is the normal class size?

The GUST MBA program runs small class sizes with an average student/faculty ratio of 25 to 1.
