Center of Alumni and Corporate Relations (CACR)

The CACR (previously called the Center of Career Services and Alumni - CCSA) provides holistic comprehensive career-planning services to GUST students and alumni. By providing expertise, resources, and support, CACR empowers students and alumni to build bridges to successful future careers. CACR aims to help students and alumni make a successful transition from their undergraduate educational environment to employment or further educational pursuits. The programs and services are designed to increase our students’ confidence and provide the necessary skills and information to succeed in the job or graduate school search.

Since career development and management is a lifelong continuous process, at different times alumni will reassess their skills, values, and interests and reevaluate their career goals. If a GUST graduate is looking for a job, considering a new career, relocating to a new city, or considering graduate school, CACR provides services to assist. Individual career counseling is available for those who are looking for new careers or are changing jobs within the same field.

CACR also works to establish a mutually beneficial relationship between the University and its alumni; to develop a database of all alumni members with their contacts and addresses; to open and maintain communication with the private and public sectors; and to establish career networks which put GUST students in contact with alumni that work in their field of interest.

GUST Internship Program

The GUST Summer Internship Program takes place from mid-June to mid-August. GUST interns work approximately 30 hours per week, Sunday through Thursday, for a total of eight weeks. Qualified students must be in good academic standing and have completed at least 75 credit hours. The semester course, CBA 440 Practicum in Business, is a prerequisite for the GUST Internship program. There is no minimum GPA requirement to register for this course, however, there are limited seats for both courses. Students participating in the GUST Internship program are required to submit weekly status reports and to prepare a final report and presentation for faculty members, outlining their activities and accomplished tasks in their internship. GUST students are placed in quality internship assignments at companies such as NBK, ABK, Al-Markaz, Global, KPMG, KMEFEK, National Investment Company, and many other prominent companies in Kuwait.
