Public Access to Libraries
Library External Membership and Public Access Service
GUST ensures that its library is accessible not only to students and faculty but also to alumni and members of the wider community. The GUST Library provides members of the community with access to its collections, facilities, and research support services through an external membership application and approval process.
External users may apply for library membership to access print collections, borrowing services, and research assistance. The Library also supports external researchers through guest access arrangements, subject to approval.
In addition, GUST Library provides a publicly accessible online catalog, enabling users worldwide to discover books, publications, and other resources, including its dedicated Kuwait Collection and works by Kuwaiti authors. To learn more about the services the Library offers, you can access the official website from the following link: https://www.gust.edu.kw/library/home
These services promote lifelong learning, community engagement, and equitable access to academic and cultural resources beyond the university community.
And in addition to lending services and open study spaces, the GUST Library regularly hosts academic exhibitions, reading initiatives, and public learning sessions that welcome school groups, researchers, and community members. These activities strengthen the library’s role as a cultural and educational hub, reinforcing SDG 11’s goal of building inclusive, safe, and sustainable communities.
