For Graduates

Date of the ceremony:

The graduation ceremony will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 17th, 2017.


Timing of the ceremony:

The duration of the event is approximately two and a half hours long. Graduates must arrive at 5:30 pm, faculty and graduates' guests at 6:00 pm.



The GUST’s amphitheater.



Only Gate No.1 and Gate No.3 will be open for graduates, and graduates' guests. Gate No.2 will be reserved for the GUST faculty and guests.



Mandatory First Rehearsal - Tuesday, Oct. 10th, 2017, at 6:00 pm, at the amphitheater.

Mandatory Second Rehearsal - Monday, Oct. 16th, 2017, at 6:00 pm, at the amphitheater


Important notice regarding invitations:

Graduates will only receive 4 invitation cards during the rehearsal, invitations are not available for purchase. The personal invitations must be presented at the main gate and at the entrance of the amphitheater. No admissions will be permitted without cards.


All graduates are required to check the commencement page regularly to check for updates.

Cap and Gown information

Full academic regalia is required for all commencement participants. Modification of gowns in any way is forbidden. Graduates not adhered in full graduation gowns will not be allowed to participate.


How to obtain graduation gowns?

Gowns will be available every day from Tuesday October 3rd, 2017 to Monday October 16th, 2017 ( excluding Fridays and Saturdays) at W6 Reception Area from 3:30pm until 6:30pm, and from 3:30pm to 5:00pm on the first rehearsal and second rehearsal.



For Undergraduates:

Cap, gown, year plate, shawl & tassel are available for KD 32. Rentals are available for KD 15.

For MBA students:

Cap, gown, year plate, shawl & tassel are available for KD 35. Rentals are available for KD 15.


Rules of Conduct



No flowers are to be worn or carried during the ceremony. No signs or messages are allowed on the cap. Participants should not chew gum or candy during the ceremony, and should not use their phones at any time.



Graduates' guests are not permitted in the graduate seating area, and they must remain seated during the entire ceremony. Photography and videotaping are allowed after the ceremony, but tripods and monopods are not permitted. Cameras must be battery operated, and patrons must remain seated while taking photographs and videotaping. Children under 12 years of age are not allowed to attend the commencement ceremony.

Gate & Parking

Please enter from Gate No.1 or Gate No.3 and park in zone C, D & E. These parking spaces are reserved for graduates, graduates' parents, graduates' guests & press.
