Mission

GUST Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) is committed to enhancing actionable knowledge about the social, environmental, and economic aspects of sustainability, through applied and policy-relevant interdisciplinary research, capacity building, and engagement with the local and regional community.

Goals

  1. Conduct applied interdisciplinary research to address complex sustainability challenges, particularly those affecting the state of Kuwait and the region.
  2. Provide research-based policy recommendations to policymakers and stakeholders, supporting the development of effective policies for sustainable development.
  3. Foster collaboration and networking among researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders that can enhance collective efforts towards sustainability.
  4. Support capacity building through seminars, workshops, and conferences on sustainability, targeting students, researchers, and professionals in the fields.
  5. Engage with the local and regional community to increase public awareness about the benefits and challenges of sustainable development.
