Message From Head of Department

Welcome to the Department of Accounting and Management Information Systems (MIS) at the College of Business Administration!

The Department of Accounting and MIS offers a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in MIS. As the largest department at the College of Business Administration, the department provides irreplaceable and unique learning opportunities designed to leading students to successful careers in these two fields.

Our programs, part of the AACSB-accredited College of Business Administration cover the basic framework of accounting and MIS practices, as well the as advanced specialized training that students need for successful careers in accounting, MIS and information technology. We aim to equip our graduates with the educational background they need to thrive in today's complex financial and technological world.

Many of our accounting and MIS graduates have gone on to pursue postgraduate studies in top-ranked universities in the UK and USA or have been placed in prominent local and international firms such PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Ernst & Young, The National Bank of Kuwait, Boubyan Bank, and the State Audit Bureau.

In addition, many of our accounting graduates do go on to sit for and complete professional accounting certifications such as the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), the Certified Management Accountant (CMA), and the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA).

The department is home to many outstanding faculty members dedicated to teaching and professional service who have also made exceptional contributions to their scholarly field evidenced by their publications in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals. The majority of the faculty members in the department hold terminal degrees in their fields from top universities in the USA, Canada, U.K, Europe and Australia and some are professionally qualified.
