GUST Sports Facilities
Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) is deeply committed to promoting physical health, wellness, and community engagement through its state-of-the-art sports and recreational facilities. In alignment with SDG 3.3.3, GUST provides students, faculty, staff, and local community members with access to spaces that encourage an active and balanced lifestyle. The University’s campus includes a modern fitness center, football and tennis courts, and various indoor and outdoor facilities that support regular exercise, competitive sports, and recreational activities throughout the year.
Beyond its internal community, GUST actively shares these facilities with local schools, children’s programs, and sports training clubs, especially during the summer months. These collaborations allow young people and community organizations to benefit from high-quality athletic spaces while fostering teamwork, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity. Through such initiatives, GUST continues to position itself as a hub for wellness and social connection, strengthening its ties with the broader community and advancing Kuwait’s vision for a healthier, more active society.
Management Club Padel Tournament
On February 6, 2024, the Management Club at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), in collaboration with Dippin’ Dots Kuwait, organized a lively Padel Tournament that brought together students, faculty, and members of the local community for a day of friendly competition and wellness. The event took place at GUST’s sports facilities and aimed to promote physical activity, teamwork, and community engagement through one of Kuwait’s fastest-growing sports.
Participants competed in teams, showcasing their skills and sportsmanship in a fun and supportive atmosphere. The event attracted a wide audience, including spectators from outside the university, highlighting GUST’s commitment to making its athletic spaces accessible beyond the campus community. Winners received special prizes provided by the event sponsor, further motivating participation and creating an inclusive environment centered on health and enjoyment.
This tournament directly supports SDG 3.3.3, as it demonstrates how GUST’s sports infrastructure is used not only for student recreation but also as a platform for community collaboration and engagement. By hosting joint events with local partners, GUST continues to strengthen its role as a hub for wellness, partnership, and active living in Kuwait.
Health Week with SPARK
In November 2025, GUST Marketing Club organized Health Week in partnership with SPARK, creating an open and engaging wellness experience that invited not only students and staff but also members of the wider community to participate. Throughout the week, the SPARK Center hosted a range of fitness activities, wellness challenges, and interactive sessions that promoted exercise, healthy habits, and overall well-being. Participants also enjoyed outdoor spaces with food vendors and healthy snack stations, creating an accessible environment where community members could join in, move freely between activities, and benefit from the campus’s shared recreational areas.
By opening its sports and wellness facilities to the public through this event, GUST directly supports SDG 3.3.3, which encourages universities to make sports and physical activity spaces available to local communities. Health Week provided free access to parts of GUST’s sports and wellness infrastructure and strengthened the university’s role as a community hub for health promotion and active living.
