I am proud to be the President of the Gulf University for Science and Technology, an institution increasingly proved to be the university of choice in the region and beyond. It is an honor to be part of GUST community, along with my esteemed colleagues, to carry on GUST mission and journey toward uniqueness.
In 2017, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) University Rankings ranked GUST in the top 50 Arab Region Universities out of nearly 1000 universities and colleges in the Arab Region, which made it the first private university in Kuwait to make the list. Such achievements would not be possible without talented faculty, dedicating and hardworking staff, enthusiastic graduate & undergraduate students, and the competent alumni of GUST.
Over its 15 years, and through its affiliation with the University of Missouri – St. Louis, GUST has focused on providing a high quality of learning and teaching, and international accreditation to all its programs. GUST has earned five US accreditations, including the ABET accreditation for the Computer Science degree, AACSB-International for the CBA undergraduate programs and MBA, Commission on English Language Accreditation (CEA) accreditation for the English Foundation Program, and the American Communications Association (ACA) accreditation for the Mass Communication Department. GUST strives to establish networking and partnerships with respected institutions all over the world that inspire collaborations in research and program development and so far has been able to maintain partnerships with 13 different universities across the globe.
GUST aims to continuously improve and develop its programs and community involvements to ensure a well-rounded academic experience. Our students also engage in a vibrant university experience. They gain education through experience while giving back to the community. Our students are able to expand their cultural horizons through study abroad opportunities and they are able to build meaningful and lasting relationships with a campus community of students, faculty and staff through the existing 17 students clubs.
Throughout my tenure, I will strive to ensure the highest standards in education in an environment that boosts innovation and hard work in science, technology, and hopefully in engineering in near future.
