Public Relations Club Awarded Club of the Year
GUST Office of Student Life (OSL) awarded the student-run Public Relations Club the ‘Club of the Year’ award in a ceremony held on campus, kick starting a week of national celebrations at the university. The award is presented annually to the club that demonstrates the most initiative, creativity, and actively inspires students by offering educational and engaging activities throughout the year. GUST President, Prof. Walid Bouhamra, VP of Professional Development and Community Services, Dr. Ahmad Al Darbas, Senior Manager of Community Engagement and Communication, Anwar Al Sabah, and Head of OSL, Aseel Abou Nemah were present at the event to honor the winning club.
The Public Relations Club won the award due to their creativity and commitment to organizing unique events on and off campus, including events such as their most recent collaboration with the Pet Lobby and Shuwaikh Market for a pets-inspired weekend in the 80s event, and ‘Whole New World’ week that took place on campus and included a full setup, seminars, activities, and food vendors.
The ceremony awarded the Social Club Award to the Management Club. This award is based on professionalism and interaction with other clubs, the student body, and the GUST community as a whole.
The purpose of the awards is to recognize the efforts of GUST’s student clubs and acknowledge their hard work as well as motivate the other student run clubs to do the same.
