About the Faculty Member
Dr Naser Abughazaleh is a full time Associate Professor of Accounting at the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST). Dr Abughazaleh joined GUST in 2010. He received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting with distinction from Jordan in 1998 and worked three years afterwards as a banker at The Arab Bank PLC and Citi Bank. He then joined the University of Birmingham in the UK where he received a Master of Science in Accounting and Finance with merit in 2002. Dr Abughazaleh worked afterwards as a lecturer in Accounting and Finance in both Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. Dr Abughazaleh received a scholarship from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland where he completed his PhD in Accounting in 2009. He worked at the University of Aberdeen as an Assistant Professor for two years before joining GUST in September 2010. He served as the Head of the Accounting and MIS Department in GUST for 5 years (2015-2020) and served also on many committees in GUST at the Departmental, College and University levels including chairing the AACSB Committee for 1 year. Dr Abughazaleh has extensive experience in teaching Accounting and Finance courses as well as supervising research dissertations for both undergraduate and graduate students. His research is published in leading, international and well recognized journals in his areas of expertise such as the Quarterly Journal of Finance and Accounting, International Journal of Accounting and Finance, Technology Analysis and Strategic Management, Advances in Accounting, Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting, Global Finance Journal, Eurasian Business Review, Journal of Open Innovation, Technology, Market and Complexity, Asia Review of Accounting and Sustainability. Dr Abughazaleh also received several competitive research grants and fellowships to conduct his research and present his papers in international conferences around the globe and is an expert in providing consultation and training services in his area of expertise.
