Fawaz AlFares is an Instructor of English at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST, Kuwait). AlFares earned his Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature with a Minor in Translation from Kuwait University (2009), his CELTA Certificate from the British Council in Kuwait (2011), and his M.A. in English from The George Washington University in Washington, DC (2016). He has worked both in the fields of education and as an independent content creator and copywriter. His research work focused primarily on comparative literature as well as literary theory and criticism with a notable focus on film and television. His current research interests, generated by his work in education and copywriting, are focused on the importance of fostering a culture that encourages critical thinking in developing an author’s voice in writing courses. Another area of interest is exploring practical approaches to the teaching of the humanities, especially when English is used as a medium of instruction in the Arabian Gulf region.
