About the Faculty Member

Ali R Ansari is a Professor of Applied Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics & Natural Sciences, Gulf University for Science & Technology (GUST) and is currently the Head of Quality Assurance and Accreditation (AQA), formerly the Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences (2010-2020). After receiving his bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from the University of Limerick in 1991, Professor Ansari got a Research Award to do a Master’s degree, which he completed at his alma mater in Physical Oceanography. In 1998 he got an Enterprise Ireland Research Fellowship and did his PhD at the University of Limerick, in the area of numerical analysis; focusing on applications in computational fluid dynamics which he completed in 2001, he also holds a Graduate Diploma in Management. After spending seven years at the University of Limerick he joined GUST in 2004. While at GUST he has served as Head of Department of Mathematics & Natural Sciences and Dean of the College of Arts & Sciences.
