About the Faculty Member

Abdulraheem Al Bakkour studied in Syria and proceeded to complete his higher studies after graduating from Al Baath University, Syria in 2002 with a B.A. degree in English Literature. Abdulraheem then got his first master's degree in literary studies from Aleppo University in 2007. After that, he was granted a scholarship from Karim Rida Said, an institution that supports students from the Middle East, and got his second master's degree from Warwick University in the United Kingdoms in 2008 in Translation Studies. Abdulraheem's first teaching experience as an ESL instructor started in 2003 while he was doing his higher studies in Syria as an adjunct at Al Baath University, Language Center. His experience as an ESL instructor enriched his expertise to include comparative literary studies, translation studies, and teaching English as a second langauge.
