About the Faculty Member

Fadi K. Dib is a full-time assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science under the College of Arts and Sciences at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST). Fadi holds a PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Kent, UK. His PhD thesis is titled "Improved Neighbourhood Search-based Methods for Graph Layout". He also holds M.Sc. degree and B.Sc. degree in Computer Science with a minor in Statistics and Operations Research. His master degree thesis was titled “A Methodology for Discovering Spatial Co-location Patterns”. His main research is in information visualization including graph drawing algorithms. Fadi has 18 years of experience in the academic field specialized in programming in several programming languages, data structures, and algorithms design and analysis. He coached many teams from GUST who competed and won many programming contests locally and regionally. Moreover, Fadi has been greatly involved in the program's ABET accreditation process as a member in the accreditation committee. He is a member of IEEE - Kuwait Section, and he has ACM professional membership. He is currently the department's coordinator for course CSC 102 "Application Development for Beginners".
