About the Faculty Member

Prof. Mahmoud Elish is a Full Professor and Head of the Computer Science Department at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST), Kuwait. Prior to joining GUST, he was an Associate Professor of Software Engineering in the Information and Computer Science Department at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM), Saudi Arabia. Dr. Elish received the Ph.D. degree in Computer Science from George Mason University, USA, in 2005. His research interests include software metrics and measurement, object-oriented analysis and design, software maintenance and evolution, empirical software engineering, and computational intelligence in software engineering. He has published around 45 articles in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences. His work has received over 1400 citations, and his current h-index on Google scholar is 17. He has intensive experience with curriculum development and academic accreditation, and has been the principal investigator/co-investigator of several funded research projects. Dr. Elish was a Faculty Research Fellow in the Computer Science Department at University of Missouri - Saint Louis (UMSL) in Summer 2016.
