About the Faculty Member

Dr. Hassan Saoud is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) in Kuwait. He earned his Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Limoges, France, with a scholarship from the French government. His doctoral research focused on nonsmooth analysis, dynamical systems, and optimization. His work spans variational analysis, control theory, and differential inclusions, with publications in leading mathematical journals. Dr. Saoud was also awarded the Distinguished Fulbright Award in Research and conducted research at Michigan State University. Dr. Saoud has extensive teaching experience across multiple institutions. He has held full-time faculty positions at the Lebanese University, and has also taught as a part-time faculty member at Lebanese American University, University of Balamand, and Notre-Dame University. His teaching interests include undergraduate courses such as Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations, as well as advanced graduate-level topics like Convex Analysis, Nonsmooth Analysis and Dynamical Systems.
