About the Faculty Member
Iqbal AlShammari is an Associate Professor of Education at Gulf University for Science & Technology (GUST) since 2011. After receiving her bachelor's degree in Education from Kuwait University in 1998, Dr. Alshammari taught English in public schools for 3 years. In 2001, she served as head of the English Department in a middle school in Kuwait. In 2007, Dr. AlShammari received her Master's degree in Educational Planning and Administration. In 2010, she received her Ph.D. from Indiana State University; USA in the area of K-12 Educational Leadership & Administration, specifically looking at the Electronic leadership in Kuwait public schools. In 2011, Dr. AlShammari joined Gulf University for Science and Technology as a faculty member teaching in the English Education Program. Since 2011, she has served as the Associate Dean for five years, and served as a committee member in CAS Calendar Committee, Curriculum and Strategic Planning Committees. Dr. Alshammari was a senator in the university Faculty senate. Dr. AlShammari has been active in research, teaching, and community service.
