About the Faculty Member

Iqbal AlShammari is an Assistant Professor of Education at Gulf University for Science & Technology (GUST) since 2011. After receiving her bachelor's degree in English Education from Kuwait University in 1998, Dr. Alshammari taught English Language in public schools for 3 years. In 2001, she has served as a head of English Department in Kuwait's public schools. In 2007, Dr. AlShammari received her Master's degree in Educational Planning and Administration. After receiving her Master's Degree, Dr. Iqbal AlShammari received partial scholarship to continue her Ph. D. in U.S.A. In 2010, she received her Ph.D. from Indiana State University; USA in the area of K-12 Educational Leadership, Administration & Foundations, specifically looking at the Electronic leadership in Kuwait public schools. In 2011, Dr. AlShammari joined Gulf University for Science and Technology as a faculty member teaching in the English Education Program. Since 2011, she has served as the Associate Dean for five years, served as a committee member in CAS Calendar Committee, Curriculum and Strategic Planning Committees. Dr. Alshammari was a senator in the university Faculty senate. Dr. AlShammari has been active in research, teaching and community service.
