About the Faculty Member

Mohammad Zabadi holds a doctorate degree in Translation Studies from the University of Bristol/UK. He is an ESL instructor and the curriculum coordinator for the Foundation Program Unit FPU at Gulf University for Science and Technology GUST. Zabadi’s areas of expertise lie in translation studies, literary translation studies, literary criticism, and second language acquisition. Zabadi's research interests are multidisciplinary. He has published scholarly research papers in Scopus-indexed international journals in areas related to literary translation, linguistics, and applied linguistics. He is currently working on several research projects with academics from the University of Bristol, the University of Birmingham, and The British University in Dubai. His research aims to explore the sociocultural dynamics of literary translation between the Arabic-English language pair. Beyond translation studies research, Zabadi is particularly interested in exploring the impact of qualitative/corrective feedback on L2 learners’ writing accuracy. He is also working on a book chapter to be published by the New York-based Springer that aims to explore pedagogical implications for assessment in the English as a Medium of Instruction Classroom EMIC.
