About the Faculty Member

In 2019, Dr. Carine Zanchi joined Gulf University for Science and Technology as an Assistant Professor. Before this role, she taught at King’s Academy in Jordan. Prior to her time at King’s Academy, she served as a French Instructor at Amman Al Ahliyya University (Jordan), where she developed a specialized French e-learning program for beginner Arabic-speaking students.Before moving to Jordan, Dr. Zanchi worked as a French instructor at the University of Bahrain. She was later recruited by the Alliance Française of Bahrain, first as Head of Studies for childrens courses and subsequently as Director of Courses. During this time, she oversaw teacher training at the center and coordinated the training of French language teachers in collaboration with the Embassy of France in Bahrain, the University of Rouen (France), and the Arab Open University of Bahrain.Dr. Zanchi earned her Ph.D. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Lyon 2. Additionally, she holds a Masters degree in Middle Eastern History. Her research projects and publications focus on areas such as the history of language learning and teaching, textbook analysis, and the teaching and learning of the French language in educational contexts, with a particular interest in teacher training.
