Assistant Manager for GSR amp SDSN
Description
- \n\nThe Graduate Studies and Research Office (GSR) is seeking an enthusiastic and hard-working member to support activities in GUST related to research, including supporting conferences, internal and external grants, international research collaborations, etc. \n \nThis role will be shared between the GSR general activities and acting as Assistant Manager to the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) in Kuwait, which is hosted by GUST’s Center for Sustainable Development (CSD).\n \nThe SDSN role requires providing administrative, logistical, and operational support to ensure the smooth execution of the activities, initiatives, and events. The role involves assisting in research coordination, stakeholder engagement, event planning, and communication efforts related to sustainability and sustainable development goals (SDGs).\n\n\n
Responsibilities
- Key Responsibilities:\n\n\n1. Administrative & Operational Support:\n\n• Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, including scheduling meetings, handling correspondence, and maintaining records.\n• Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and documentation for sustainability projects.\n• Support budget tracking related to CSD activities.\n• Maintain and update databases related to sustainability research, partnerships, and projects.\n\n\n2. Event & Project Coordination:\n\n• Assist in planning and organizing conferences, workshops, and sustainability initiatives.\n• Coordinate logistics for guest speakers and participants, including travel arrangements and accommodations.\n\n\n3. Research & Stakeholder Engagement:\n\n• Support research projects by collecting data, reviewing reports, and summarizing findings.\n• Engage with internal and external stakeholders.\n• Assist in preparing grant applications for sustainability initiatives.\n\n\n4. Communication & Outreach:\n\n\n• Help in updating website content related to CSD initiatives.\n• Coordinate announcements for upcoming events.\n
Experience

Job Specific Competencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
Behavioral Skills
- • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.\n• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).\n• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.\n• Experience in event planning, project coordination, or administrative support is preferred.\n
