Assistant Professor for Applied Mathematics in the Mathematics & Natural Science Department
Description
The Department of Mathematics & Natural Science in the College of Arts and Sciences at GUST invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Applied Mathematics to start in Fall 2026. The successful candidate will teach, among others, Mathematics courses for Computer Science and Engineering majors (Calculus 1,2,3, Differential Equations, and Numerical Analysis), as well as General Education mathematics courses such as : College Algebra, Basic Calculus, and Basic Probability & Statistics. Preference will be given to candidates whose research lies in areas such as Scientific Computing, Mathematical Modeling, Optimization, Data Science, or Big Data Analytics. The State of Kuwait does not recognize degrees from online universities.
Minimum Qualifications
The applicant must have completed a PhD in Mathematics or any related field from a reputable North American or European university with extensive teaching experience. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to quality teaching, have a strong academic record of scholarly-related activity and quality research. He/she should possess excellent communication skills in English, be ambitious, self-motivated, hard-working, with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
