Assistant Professor for Spanish Language and Culture in the Humanities & Social Sciences

The Department of Humanities & Social Sciences in the College of Arts and Sciences at GUST invites applicants for a full-time faculty position in Spanish Language and Culture starting in Fall 2026. The ideal candidate should hold a PhD in Spanish Language and Culture. The successful candidate will teach Spanish to undergraduate students. In addition to teaching and service, it is expected to maintain an increasingly significant professional and/or scholarly practice. The State of Kuwait does not recognize degrees from online universities.

Minimum Qualifications

The applicant must have completed a PhD in Spanish Language and Culture or any related field from a reputable North American (U.S. or Canada) or European university with an extensive teaching experience. The ideal candidate should have a strong commitment to quality teaching and have a mix of academic, professional and technical expertise in this area. He/she should possess excellent communication skills in English, must be ambitious, self-motivated, hard-working, with the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.

Gulf University for Science & Technology (GUST)

Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) was established in 2002 as Kuwait's first private American-model liberal arts university.
