Photographer & Videographer Officer

Description

  • The Photographer & Videographer Officer is responsible for capturing, producing, editing, and delivering high-quality visual content that supports the university’s communication, branding, marketing, and social media objectives.
  • The role includes covering university events, producing creative photo and video content, supporting marketing campaigns, documenting student life and campus activities, and ensuring all visual outputs reflect the university’s brand identity and professional standards.

Responsibilities

  • Capture high-quality photos and videos for university events, campaigns, student activities, academic programs, athletics, executive education, and institutional initiatives.
  • Cover fast-paced events of different scales, including official ceremonies, conferences, student activities, sports events, classroom/program highlights, and external visits.
  • Produce creative and engaging visual content for social media platforms, website, digital screens, press releases, advertisements, and internal/external communication channels.
  • Edit photos and videos in line with the university’s brand guidelines, ensuring consistency in color grading, framing, pacing, visual quality, and overall look and feel.
  • Prepare short-form video content suitable for Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, LinkedIn, and other digital platforms.
  • Work closely with the PR, Marketing, and Social Media teams to understand content briefs, campaign objectives, required shots, platform specifications, and delivery timelines.
  • Support pre-event planning by reviewing coverage briefs, identifying key moments to capture, preparing equipment, and coordinating with relevant team members.
  • Set up and operate cameras, lighting, microphones, tripods, stabilizers, and other production equipment as required.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, organization, and maintenance of photography and videography equipment.
  • Organize and archive all photo and video files systematically for future use and easy access.
  • Create visual assets such as reels, highlight videos, recap videos, interviews, testimonials, campaign videos, and event coverage packages.
  • Assist in developing creative concepts, shot lists, visual directions, and content ideas for campaigns and social media coverage.
  • Capture on-ground testimonials and interview-style content when required.
  • Add basic motion graphics, subtitles, captions, transitions, music, and visual effects where needed.
  • Deliver edited content within agreed timelines while maintaining high production quality.
  • Coordinate with designers, editors, social media officers, and other team members to ensure content is ready for publishing.
  • Stay updated with current visual trends, social media formats, editing styles, and platform best practices.
  • Maintain professionalism during shoots and represent the department appropriately when covering official events.
  • Carry out any other related duties assigned by the direct supervisor.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in photography, videography, editing, or media production.
  • Experience in event coverage, social media content production, and short-form video creation.
  • Experience using professional cameras, lighting, audio equipment, and editing software.
  • Experience in an educational, corporate, media, or agency environment is preferred.
  • Video/Photo Editing Experience (Davinci Resolve, Adobe Premier, Final Cut Pro, etc.)
  • A background in media, communication, photography, videography, design, or a related field is an advantage but not required.

  • Knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign, and other design/editing tools is an advantage.
  • Ability to shoot and edit content for different formats, including vertical, horizontal, and square layouts.
  • Understanding of lighting, composition, framing, sound, color correction, and storytelling.
  • Knowledge of motion graphics, subtitles, transitions, and social media editing trends.
  • Ability to manage and archive media files properly.

Proffessional Certificates

  • Not required, but certificates or training in photography, videography, video editing, Adobe Creative Suite, or digital media production are an advantage.

Education

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.
