GUST Sponsors Kuwait Award for PR & Customer Service and Hosts Workshops
GUST is officially among the sponsors of the esteemed Kuwait Public Relations & Customer Service Awards and its programs. The award, which is under the patronage of H.H. the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, offers a variety of programs and events under its umbrella.
GUST President, Professor Walid Bouhamra, welcomed the PR Association Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Jamal Nasrallah, Khaled Al-Khulaifi, Awards Jury Head for a meeting on campus with Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Fahed Al-Sumait, Vice President for Professional Development and Community Services, Dr. Ahmad Al-Derbas, and Post-Doctoral Researcher, Dr. Albaraa Al-Tourah. The purpose of the meeting was for both parties to connect and solidify this new collaboration, and discuss potential of future collaborations.
Part of the collaboration between GUST and the Kuwait Public Relations Association, is the hosting of two unique workshops on campus. The workshops welcomed industry professionals as well as students to get an in-depth experience into the world of Public Relations. The workshops were led by GUST Associate Professor in the GUST Mass Communication and Media Department, Dr. Ali Dashti, who focused on the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility and how it can be optimally achieved; and Khaled Al-Khulaifi, a member of the PR Awards Committee, who delved into the intricacies of creating a promotional campaign.
The Kuwait Award for Public Relations & Customer Service, is a means for the PR Association to encourage and develop local entities public relations best practices. The award includes both private and public institutions, and gives out awards in different categories. It also aims in boosting the quality of the industry output.
GUST is an avid supporter of all community initiatives both among the private sector such as banking industry with welcoming programs such as the Boubyan Academcy or Warba Bank Rowad Program for students, public sector with all its work with all schools to boost STEM application in education through the Center for Teaching, Learning & Research (CTLR), or even the community in general with the latest workshops held for the public through our Center for Professional Advancement & Continuing Education (PACE).
