Web / Moodle Developer
- The LMS Web Developer assists with the implementation of a
new Moodle system by developing custom plug-ins and modules. The key role for
the LMS Web Developer is to:
of the OS, application and scripted infrastructure of the Moodle VLE.
or delivery of client-side applications on desktop and mobile platforms.
planning, testing, documentation and release of the above.
technical input to GUST, their supported departments and the e-learning committee.
installation of new modules that suits environments requirement

updates, diagnosing software bugs and proposing solutions.
customize and integrate Moodle systems with other technologies.
for escalated help tickets requiring account and other database modifications.
- Stays up-to-date
with the Moodle open-source community by interacting in and following online
forums, bug trackers, and release notes.
software testing and quality assurance procedures, including code reviews,
testing on non-production systems, and evaluation of appropriate software
system updates, backup schedule and configuration settings.
with dept. or third party agencies to ensure software changes are
production-ready before release.
new modules and tools for the Moodle environment; evaluates, installs, and
configures third party modules; develops and/or evaluates new applications and
tools associated with instructional services.
code reviews and debugging as needed.
duties as assigned by Director of Elearning Center of Excellence
- Demonstrated experience with one or more of the major LMS,
including Moodle, Blackboard or Canvas.
- Minimum three years? experience working as part of a team
- Experience in managing eLearning portals.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills along with customer
service and interpersonal skills
understanding of Moodle Architecture and APIs integration, Migration and
knowledge of LAMP Programming in Moodle LMS Installation and customization
in detailed customization of Moodle features or modules and SCORM content.
Linux, Apache, MySQL / SQL Server, PHP, Joomla, Drupal
in MySQL and other RDBMS (normalization, indexes, triggers and procedures)
Content Authoring Tools: Articulate Studio, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia Studio,
SCORM 2004, Big Blue Button etc.
